Know More…
Encumeada Viewpoint – Situated on a high point of the island, the Encumeada Viewpoint allows you to observe the north and south coasts of Madeira. This panoramic view, with its unique amplitude, reveals to visitors a global perspective of this Atlantic island.
This observation site can be found on the crest of the mountain range that runs through the interior of Madeira. It is situated at an altitude of 1007 metres, which allows visitors to enjoy an open view over the surrounding landscape.
Nossa Senhora de Fátima Chapel – Situated on the top of a hill, this small temple, whose façades are painted in white, contrasts with its green surroundings.
When arriving to Nossa Senhora de Fátima Chapel, which can be accessed through a staircase, visitors are confronted with a striking landscape. On one side, the majesty of the mountains covered by a dense forest mantle, on the other, the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. The scenery is completed with the typical houses that sprinkle the slopes – especially the parish of São Vicente, which can be seen in its entirety here.
Ponta Delgada – A ‘slender tip of land, vanishing into the sea’: this is how Gaspar Frutuoso, historian and priest of the 16th century, explains in his work ‘Saudades da Terra’ the name ‘Ponta Delgada’. The origin of this parish, so marked by the sea, dates back to 1552.
Boaventura – this small and peaceful parish is situated in mountainous green surroundings. It is, in fact, considered a true natural sanctuary, where the beauty of the valleys torn by multiple water courses turns this space into a small isolated oasis. If you’re looking for a predominantly quiet place, you’ve found it.
São Jorge – offers one of the most surprising landscapes on the north coast of the island of Madeira, perfect for a peaceful contemplation of the beauty of the mountains that rise up by the sea.
It therefore offers a wide view, especially over this last place, famous for the fertility of its soils as a result of the microclimate it enjoys. But the panorama is far from limited to this picturesque village.
Quinta do Furão Viewpoint & Lunch– This privileged location guarantees an unequalled panoramic view over the jagged profile of the northeast coast, whose coastline is marked here by the imposing rocky cliffs.
Lunch at Quinta do Furão – 21,50€ / Person – FROM 01.05.2025: 23,50€ / Person – On the balcony, subject to availability: extra 5€ / Person

Guindaste viewpoint – offers a breathtaking view over the north coast of Madeira. It is the ideal place to contemplate the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean that bathes the island.
Porto da Cruz – is a rural parish dominated by the primary sector. The humanised landscape, resulting from the farmland scattered among the valleys embellish the natural environment.
Sugar cane has been cultivated since the beginning of the settlement and is made into Aguardente (white rum) which is then used in Poncha.
