How to make a reservation?

To make a reservation you must first do a pre-book through e-mail, andd wait for the confirmation of Miguel Is Here.

How to make the payment?

Payment can be made by Bank Transfer or through PayPal.

How can I cancel a tour?

To cancel a tour, you must proceed via email or telephone.

If you plan on cancel please warn us as soon as possible! Normally I never cancel tours, but unpredictable things happen, and safety is my priority … So, if I need to change a tour you will be always warned about it!

Do you pick up from our Hotel/Apartment/Port?

Yes, we pick you up and drop you off.

Do you pick up outside of Funchal?

We do pick up outside of Funchal, with an extra charge.

There is sometimes a pick up fee depending how far you are and which tour you´re looking for.

We have a meeting area for those travelling into Funchal by rent-a-car, which is easy to find and has free parking.

Does your price include lunch? and is there a lunch option?

None of our prices include lunch, or drinks.

We do however have deals with local restaurants so that you get the best lunch we can offer on the day, traditional quality food and a variety of choices including vegetarian and vegan, on request.

You can expect to pay between 12 euros and 15 euros each, for a 3 courses meal with drinks (wine, beer or juice), bread, desert and coffee. We highly recommend it!

Is there anything in particular that we need to bring with us?

Participants should wear comfortable shoes and take clothes which are suitable for changeable weather conditions.

It can be very warm in Funchal, however, in the mountains it can get cold or very HOT 😊 even on winter, we never know.

Our UMM’s are Open Vintage Portuguese army jeeps (Convertible), because we take some rough paths to show you the best of our island.

In the mountain it`s time to blow the wind on our face, that`s why my jeeps are OPEN, but we have a cover just in case 😉

So, in case we need, we will be protected inside the vehicle, but if you would like to get out, you should be prepared.

The summer months are the only months you can get away with wearing shorts and t shirts for the entire trip, but in case you need it is better to have a good windbreaker/jacket will be essential, long trousers and good socks 😉

Do your island tours include levada walks?

Sometimes. We don´t have “schedules”, for this reason sometimes we go, sometimes we don´t, depending on the group and our judgement on the day…

Is there an opportunity to swim on your tours?

The west tour… yes, if it´s warm enough, I already had many clients swimming all year around!

If you go private, you can swim, whenever you want really…. (if there´s water nearby of course)

How many people will be on the tour with us?

All my shared tours are with small groups, maximum 4 people, to be more comfortable.

However, my jeep takes 7 customers, so in case you need another place to invite someone to join the party, you can 😊

Do you do tours for big groups or families?

Yes, I do, I can take a maximum of 14 people on our island tours (I have 2 UMMS).

If you are a bigger group, I always can invite more UMM jeep`s to join US 😊

Are your tours suitable for babies/children/disabled or elderly?

The minimum age for our shared tours is 5 years.

I already have done tours with a disabled people, that needs a wheelchair (Private tours only).

However, my jeep does not have adequate space to store your wheelchair, it will have to go in the back together with your friends or family, so it will not be so comfortable for them.

As far as the elderly are concerned, I only recommend it to those who can get in and out of the vehicle comfortably.

I’ve done many tours with clients over 80 and they loved it 😊

Is it possible to "combine the east and west tour"?

No.

The island is bigger than some people think.

If we could see the island in one whole day, we would offer full island tours 😉

However, I will be able to customize a route if you already have some in mind on our private tours ….

Are your tours "off the beaten track"?

Absolutely all of them!

Should we book in advance or wait until we get there?

You should! We are a small company!

We fill up fast…. If you leave it to the day we might get booked up, there are periods where we can be fully booked for up to 10 days, usually sumer time, flower festival, wine festival, March school holidays, Christmas and New Year`s ….

If you have any other questions or feel that these ones have not been well answered …. Just ask! 🙂
